People Data Labs

Time needed: ~5 minutes · Cost: free · Difficulty: easy · Method: web form

People Data Labs (PDL) is a data broker that sells person profiles — built from public records, social data, and licensed sources — to other companies through an API. It has a published Privacy Center where you can request deletion of your data.

The law, plainly: until 13 May 2027, India's DPDP erasure right is not enforceable. This request asks PDL to act voluntarily under its own privacy process. It is a formal, dated, documented request.

Exact steps — deletion request

  1. Go to the Privacy Center at privacy.peopledatalabs.com — also linked as "Make a Privacy Request" in the peopledatalabs.com footer.
  2. Choose your relationship: Consumer (a person requesting deletion of their own data).
  3. Select "Delete my data". (Other options on the form: access, correction, portability, opt-out.)
  4. Enter your email address. PDL sends you a verification link.
  5. Click the link in the email ("Access the Privacy Center Here"), tick the acknowledgment, enter your country/state of residence, and click "Confirm Request".

US residents — Do Not Sell form

If you live in the US, there is a separate form at peopledatalabs.com/do-not-sell-or-share: enter your full name, US state/territory of residence, and email address. That form is for US sale/sharing opt-outs only — everyone else, including all deletion requests and non-US residents, should use the Privacy Center above.

What to expect

PDL publishes no fixed deadline for deletion on the pages checked. Some third-party walkthroughs cite deletion within 14 days — that is not PDL's published promise, so don't count on it.

Honest caveat from PDL's own docs: API deletions apply immediately, but customers on a Data License only receive deletions and opt-outs in their next data delivery — so copies already sold can persist downstream. PDL also states it retains the identifiers you submit in order to honour the opt-out.
